Several regions, one country
India's too big for one itinerary — here's a region-by-region look at everywhere we've actually travelled and filmed.
Our most-filmed Indian region — five separate hotel stays across Candolim, Calangute, Varca and Sinquerim, all beachfront. A good base for a relaxed 4–5 day coastal trip.
The Pink City's Hawa Mahal and City Palace in Jaipur, then Udaipur's lake palaces — Lake Pichola and the Ananta Resort both make the "City of Lakes" worth 2–3 days on their own.
A short city stop around India Gate and central Delhi — usually the start or end point connecting to Rajasthan or Kashmir.
Dal Lake and the Mughal gardens in Srinagar, then Betaab Valley and Aru Valley from a Pahalgam base, with a Sonamarg roadtrip for the glacier views.
Coffee-estate stays in Coorg (Evolve Back's lily pool villas) and the hill-station charm of Ooty for a cooler, greener change of pace.

Goa — the beach resorts we've stayed at are all straightforward with kids, and flights connect easily from most Indian cities.
We found Srinagar, Pahalgam and Sonamarg easy and welcoming to travel — as with anywhere, check current regional advisories before booking.
October to March — Jaipur and Udaipur get very hot from April through June.
Yes — both are a cooler, slower contrast if you're combining with Bangalore, Mysore or Kerala.
