Jewel to Gardens by the Bay

A city trip built around Changi's Jewel, Sentosa's rides, and the green spaces that make Singapore easy to love with a family.

4 days across the city

Singapore rewards a mix of pace β€” big attractions like Universal Studios balanced against slow wandering through Chinatown and Arab Street.

DURATION 4 days
PACE 1–2 stops/day
TRANSIT MRT-friendly
Gardens by the Bay

CLOUD FOREST, GARDENS BY THE BAY

DAY 01

Jewel Changi & check-in

Land, then walk straight into the Rain Vortex at Jewel before even leaving the airport β€” it's worth the detour on arrival day.

DAY 02

Sentosa β€” Universal Studios

A full day at Universal Studios Singapore; the Sentosa Express monorail makes the island easy to reach without a car.

DAY 03

Merlion, Chinatown & Arab Street

Morning at Merlion Park with the Marina Bay skyline, then an afternoon on foot through Chinatown's shophouses and the Thian Hock Keng Temple, ending at Arab Street near the Sultan Mosque.

DAY 04

Gardens by the Bay & Singapore Zoo

Cloud Forest by day, Supertree Grove after dark for the light show, plus a half-day at Singapore Zoo β€” the tram makes it manageable with kids.

Before you go

Dos and don'ts

The small stuff that makes a trip smoother.

Do

  • Get an EZ-Link or tourist pass β€” the MRT covers almost everything on this itinerary.
  • Book Universal Studios tickets online in advance to skip the queue.
  • Visit Gardens by the Bay twice if you can β€” Cloud Forest by day, Supertree light show after dark.
  • Wear comfortable shoes β€” Chinatown and Arab Street are best done on foot.

Don't

  • Don't chew gum in public β€” it's actually restricted by law in Singapore.
  • Don't jaywalk β€” crossings are strictly enforced.
  • Don't skip sun protection at Gardens by the Bay β€” the outdoor gardens have very little shade.
  • Don't leave Jewel Changi for a spare hour β€” it deserves at least half a day on its own.

Good to know

FAQs

The questions we get asked most about this trip.

Do Indian travellers need a visa for Singapore?

Yes, an e-visa is required for Indian passport holders β€” apply online in advance; processing is usually quick but don't leave it to the last minute.

How many days do you need in Singapore?

4 days covers the highlights comfortably β€” Sentosa alone can easily take a full day if you add the beaches or Adventure Cove.

Is Singapore expensive?

It runs higher than Southeast Asian neighbours, but the MRT keeps transport costs down and hawker centres keep food affordable.

Is Singapore Zoo worth a half-day?

Yes β€” the tram system and open enclosures make it an easy, low-fuss stop with kids.
