Dubai works well as a dense 4β5 day trip β big-ticket sights on one side, a desert safari to break up the skyscrapers on the other.

Check into a Downtown base near the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall β an easy first day with the fountain show right outside.
Book the Burj Khalifa observation deck for late afternoon to catch the sunset, then the Dubai Frame the same day if timings allow.
